Make Horses Harder to Steal Based on Rider/Horse Bond

With the horse fence now out and about I feel it should be more difficult to steal player horses.

That said, I don’t think it should be automatic. I think it should be determine by how long you’ve had your horse, how much you’ve ridden it, and how well you taken care of it.

For example, if you have had a horse for a month, given it treats, avoid riding it to near death or abusing it physically, the horse would be very loyal to you so if anyone should hop on it that wasn’t you, it would start bucking around like a wild one. The goal wouldn’t be to actually kick the horse thief off but to make a seen and a delay so that other players can realize that isn’t their horse and chose to act/not act accordingly.

Now lets say you ride your horse all the time to 0 stamina, hit it often, and never give it treats or pat it. This horse wouldn’t give a damn about you and anyone could hop on and ride off without any commotion.

I got the idea from some of the horse trainers on the server who really put a lot of effort into their rp, providing detailed journals of the horses training and what not. I think these changes would also benefit them as if they take the time to notice your horse’s quirks and share them with you, then that extra info to help build the bond faster and in turn help spread their reputation throughout the state.

Regarding the issue of letting friends use horses, perhaps they wouldn’t buck if you let them get on the back before your got off?

Also if something like this was possible, I’d fully support increasing the monitary rewards at the horse fence to double of what they are now at the very least due to the increase risk.
