This is an issue I was personally faced with as a new business owner. I hired a new player to my business as a means to help them engage with roleplayers more and learn a few new skills while making some nice money. They decided to sell a bunch of food while I was offline and or asleep but instead of updating their ledger, they immediately stole all of the money, took three items and quit being an employee. I woke up to being nearly bankrupt because I had to payback someone for an order of food I didn’t have.
There needs to be NEW RULES for offline raiding, and being an employee of a business.
You cannot rob a business without the owners or workers being present there. This means an employee can’t just steal a bunch of items or sell a bunch of items and decide to quit. It’s not fun RP, it’s subpar and boring because there is NOTHING you can about it without seeing them IC again.
We need a in-game ledger system, similar to how LAW now has their updated law menu with the storage system. We need a system where a “local guard” can see which employees are taking items from storage containers as per your business. So if someone tried something in the future, the business owner can look at the local ledger and see who took what.
As it now stands, anyone can join the server, make a new character, go join a business, wait for the business owners to log out for the night, take three stacks of items from that business, sell the entire inventory, pocket that money, quit the business, and get away with it because they only technically stole the money and those three item stacks.

Not an admin, but if that’s happening that sounds more like Fail RP. If you rob something/someone, you have to leave some sort of evidence, etc. If they aren’t report it and admins can look into it.
Regarding ledgers, a lot of people use google sheets and keep track of sales, inventories that way.

Well - I agre.
I had an employee, who sold some furnitures, but decided to keep all the money.
She updated most of the ledger (what she sold)…
Think she stole something too, but cant prove..
She even wrote to me ooc that she liked the idea of her skipping the bill…
I been trying IC to get hold of her.. law, lawyer and even ‘investigator’…
no luck to find her…
I been using google sheets & forms to keep track of sales.
And now I’m told that this don’t count as evidence in the game..
Meaning… I have no chance of getting money back.
For me - this only means that I don’t employ much new folks…
The profit I could have vs the loses I could have… just doesn’t seem to be worth it…
And I dont think I’m the only one…
When I see the amount of business with an actual location - and look how much it is open… (discard saloons) vs how many business who live on deliveries/pop-up shops… (meaning not being in store)
I wish my stores (and everyone elses) to be open 24/7… I wish customers to actually meet folk when they enter a store…
I wish ppl would come to a big city and see the businesses open…
But this is not happening, cause not many employees.
Suggestion:
An employee should apply to be ‘dirty’ just like the corrupt lawman
Sorry, WOT
