I know this will upset the few who like to farm and do it for fun.. or even business. However, it is highly unrealistic to farm during the winter when this is the time - especially during the time-era we are set in of 1899, that farmers were unable to grow anything due to how cold the weather was. The snow made the ground unable to keep warm. The sun didn’t have the ability to warm the crops enough, snow was more common than rain. Pipes would be frozen due to water freezing in the pipes. I propose that during the time we have snow on the grounds, that farming be impossible as it wouldn’t be a time realistically people farmed in 1899.
This would promote roleplay for produce ranches more specifically.. as they would be unable to farm again until the snow let up and the weather become warmer.
Ways this can promote roleplay?
• Produce prices will rise 10 cents to 30 cents, due to the minimum amount a ranch might have from their harvest.
• Criminal Gangs might target produce ranches more in order to get those supplies.
• Farmers will have to spend time “crunching” so to speak to get as much produce as they can produced before the winter is here in the later months.
• Due to the lack of hay. Cattle might not be as fruitful. They might pass and die if not enough hay or warmth is given to them.
In all, the roleplay prospects of having winter cut the ability to harvest and farm, are endless if people simply put their mind to it.

If you do a /temperature - then you see that temperature might not be as low as one could expect… with snow on ground..
Personally I find it anoying to see snow in desert during daytime and its +10 degree celcius…
What your are suggesting can be done rp wise…
if script wise, then they also need to look at the temperature thing!

Howdy!
Id like to adress that farming isnt IMPOSSIBLE in the snow. There are a few crops that are possible to grow in cold or freezing temperatures and some that do quite well. Carrots for isntance were often grown in colder months cause they dont seem to care much about the temperature!
That being said, these restrictions are for players to place on themselves to provide more RP. In fact, I encourage anyone playing a farmer to rp this and I know of at least 2 ranches that stockpiled for the snow and have not placed a plant! A script to ensure this simply wouldnt be required as this would be an RP thing :D

doesn’t need to be a script to prevent, more a Guideline, but as mentioned in the Discord, many that the Guidelines are written for to help, those people don’t read or pay attention to them anyway. Two ranches doint it is great, but should be a guideline or even a rule, dare i say, for the era based realism for all farmers to adhere to because again, you have those that still see it as a “game” and have that grind mindset, and potentially havint to place a ticket if you see someone farming in winter just adds to the ticket pile of staff. Most are adults here and have a history of RP and should know…SHOULD
